The FZ1 Owner's Association (FZ1OA) is a forum for FZ1 owners and other motorcycle enthusiasts to exchange information and ideas in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. To help preserve this atmosphere, all members and visitors to this forum are expected to comply with the following guidelines.

The FZ1OA administration reserves the right to enforce these guidelines, up to and including revoking a member's privileges.

Issues concerning the FZ1OA are addressed through a consensus of administrators. The email addresses of all administrators are available at the bottom of every forum page. Administrators volunteer their time to help make the FZ1OA a fun, informative and friendly place to visit. Please help them in this effort.

These guidelines may be updated or amended at any time.

FZ1OA moderators are a group of volunteers to help facilitate discussion on the FZ1OA. They should not to be argued with in public when enforcing forum rules and guidelines. All members are welcome to speak with the moderators about their concerns in a polite and calm manner in private. If you have a complaint, you can contact the administrator.

Do not smart off to moderators. They are here by choice alone, and have been bestowed the privilege of maintaining this wonderful site, and acting on direct authority from the Owner and Administrator himself to enforce the rules, regulations, etiquette, and desired environment.

We reserve the right to delete any membership without prior warning. You agree, through the Terms of Service, that you will not use the FZ1OA to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory of any kind, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, sexually oriented, racial, stereotypical, sexist remarks threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violation of any law. You agree not to use the addresses of any member on the forum for any other purpose than personal communication with that member.

Be sure to start your thread in the appropriate forum or sub-forum. Threads that are posted to the wrong forum may be moved to the appropriate forum by a Moderator. Avoid off-topic posts. Off topic posts may be deleted or moved at the Moderators discretion.

We reserve the right to delete any message for any or no reason whatsoever. You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the FZ1OA, the FZ1OA Community, and the administration with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s). As a privately owned website we reserve the right to revoke your membership to the forum or disable your posting ability for any or no reason whatsoever.

FZ1OA members are not permitted to harass or "flame" other members. Please do not post or transmit any unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, profane, hateful, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable material of any kind, including, but not limited to, any material which encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, violate the rights of others, or otherwise violate any applicable local, state, national or international law. Please note that this also includes the posting of taunts on a forum solely for the purpose of demeaning that forum's topic and/or members. Any threat of physical violence to another member will be cause for immediate suspension of your account.

Posts relating to controversial topics must be confined to the Adult Swim forum. Posts must not contain any hate language jokes, slurs, or otherwise offensive remarks directed toward racial or ethnic groups. The same restrictions apply to posts referring to sexual orientation. Attacks upon or mockery of religion, religious beliefs, religious icons, or religious groups will also not be tolerated.

This does not mean that topics such as gay marriage cannot be discussed. It does mean that those discussions must be respectful and not in any way intolerant, demeaning, or derogatory. For example, opinions based on precepts of liberty, equal justice, and religious views must be equally respected. It also does not mean that religion cannot be discussed. It does mean that all views and beliefs must be respected including the notion of holding religious beliefs itself. Posts intended solely to ridicule religion are unacceptable. This applies equally to all recognized religions.

As always, political views are fair game to insult, mockery, derision, etc. Again however, personal attacks against members are absolutely not permitted.

The moderators will continue to have discretion and latitude in the implementation of these guidelines and to apply remedies as appropriate to context and circumstance.

This community forum is a place for ideas and constructive participation, and not a place to violate any laws or to discuss illegal activities. This type of activity includes, but is not limited to, advocating or asking for information regarding software piracy or unauthorized emulators of software or hardware, sharing or distributing viruses, licenses, registration information, software keys, "cracks," or other information designed to do harm to or allow unlawful access to any computer hardware, software, networks, or any other systems. Please refrain from posting this kind of message.

It is illegal to post any content that is copyrighted or trademarked, unless you hold the copyright or trademark. Any material protected by copyright may not be posted in the message boards without the expressed written permission of the author or owner of the copyright on that material. This includes reproducing the YAMAHA SERVICE MANUAL or any portion of the service manual in any way shape or form. It also includes full text of news stories, articles, etc. It is acceptable to provide a link to copyrighted material so long as that link is hosted on the copyright holder’s web site, to post brief excerpts, or to paraphrase other works, though we do strongly encourage you to cite the original source whenever possible.

Forum members are allowed to embed images in their messages by linking to an image that exists on another site or downloading it from their computer's hard drive. In addition to the copyright restrictions mentioned above, users should also refrain from embedding any images of nudity or any other sexual nature, graphic images of gore and death, or any other material deemed offensive. Any links to clearly offensive or pornographic materials will also be removed immediately at the moderator's discretion. The FZ1OA strives to be a work and family safe environment. We expect your participation in keeping it that way.

All ip addresses are logged and, if necessary, the FZ1OA will cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies to assure the arrest, prosecution and conviction of any member who uses this forum to commit a crime or conspire to commit a crime with or against any member of this forum.

The use of inappropriate, offensive language or language substitutions are not permitted on the FZ1OA. Inappropriate or offensive language includes, but is not limited to, any language or content that is sexually oriented, sexually suggestive or abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, profane, hateful, or that contains racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable material of any kind. We ask that you please be considerate to other members in the forums when posting your messages. Again, we strive to keep the FZ1OA a work and family safe environment. We expect your participation in keeping it that way. We will not allow linking, mention or reference to any website or organization that contains any of the aforementioned objectionable content. Any posts or links made to websites containing such will be removed and a warning given.

FZ1OA members may add a signature line to their posts. This may be a combination of text, images, and/or active links. We encourage these to be used as expressions of a personal nature to identify members and their interests or hobbies. Links to informative services are also encouraged. However there are certain guidelines that must be followed to maintain a certain decorum.

  1. The content must conform to the Respect Policy and Posting Guidelines described above.
  2. Political or religious expressions judged by Board Administration to be of a sensitive and controversial nature are prohibited.
  3. Excessively large or visually intrusive images are not permitted.
  4. Signature lines may not create an attention getting atmosphere that impedes the pleasurable reading experience of the other posts in a thread.
  5. Reference to a commercial website for motorcycle related products or services only is permissible provided that no images or blatant spam type advertising for that website is included. Only brief text or an active link shall be permitted. Also, if, in the opinion of Board Administration, such a reference is deemed visually intrusive, violates our policy of minimal commercialization, or is excessive in size or frequency of appearance it will be removed.
  6. Board Administration reserves the right to amend these policies as creative attempts to circumvent them dictate.

Adult Swim

The Adult Swim forum has been provided for heated discussions and posts that may not quite fall into the work or family safe category. Members are given a bit more latitude here however, FZ1OA guidelines must still be observed in this forum.
